Birthdays & Celebrations

The birthday that needs a long table, the graduation the whole family flies in for, the shower that wants a room of its own. We have been hosting them on 18th Street since 2001, with a floor upstairs when the door should be closed and a kitchen that sends everything out to share.

One note on the menus: the buffets start at 40 guests, and a party that size is served upstairs in the Gold Room. Every other menu works in any of the rooms.

Family-style is the shape a celebration wants: everything lands in the middle of the table at once and the room helps itself. Any menu we cook can be built around what your guests eat.

Thirteen meze, char-grilled mains and house sweets, set down family-style for the whole table to share.

Good to know

How a private event works

No room fee
There is no room rental fee. Every private event runs on a food and beverage minimum, set for your date, your room and your guest count. If the bill lands under it, the difference is charged as a room charge.
Deposit
A deposit holds your date and is applied to your final bill. The amount follows the menu and the guest count. Your date is confirmed once the signed agreement and the deposit are both in; until then it stays pending.
Guaranteed guest count
We ask for your final guest count in writing 7 days before the event. It can go up after that, never down. If we do not hear from you, the estimate on your agreement becomes the guaranteed count.
Cancellation
The cancellation window is agreed when you sign, typically 15 days before the event. Cancel inside the agreed window and your deposit is refunded in full, within 15 days.
Decorations
You are welcome to decorate the room. Tell us what you are planning ahead of the day. Nothing may be fixed to the walls, ceilings or fixtures in a way that damages them, and confetti, glitter and open flame are not allowed.
Outside food
The food and drink come from our kitchen and bar. The one exception is a celebration cake, agreed with us in advance.

Asked most often

  • Do you do anything for the birthday itself?

    We do. Tell us whose night it is when you book and we will bring the cake out at the right moment, with the whole room singing if that is what you want and quietly if it is not.

  • Do we get a private room, or do we sit in the restaurant?

    Both work, and the block at the top of this page points you at the right one. A table of friends sits in the dining room; when you want the door closed, the Gold Room upstairs is a floor of your own.

  • Can we play our own music?

    Upstairs, yes. The Gold Room has its own sound system and its own projector, so your playlist and a slideshow of the last twenty years both work.

  • How far ahead should we book?

    The sooner the better for a weekend evening. Send the form with your date and our events team will tell you straight away what is open.
