Private events

Full Buyout

Both floors, the bar and the whole team, with the door closed to everyone else. It is how we host weddings, company evenings and the parties that outgrow a single room.

Capacity Up to 120 seated · ~200 standing

  • Both floors and the bar, closed to other guests for the length of your event.
  • We can open on a Monday, the one day we are otherwise closed.
  • Seated dinner or a standing party: the capacity above covers both.

The room

A look around

  • The front of Mezè DC on a summer evening, the wine bar doors folded open onto the patio tables
  • The bar at Mezè DC, its shelves lit and the stools waiting
  • From the end of the bar toward the open front, high tables by the folding windows and 18th Street outside
  • The dining room at Mezè DC, tables set along the banquette and the bar stools facing the bottle shelves
  • The candlelit dining room at Mezè DC, warm Edison lights overhead and the staircase to the upstairs room
  • The Mezzanine at Mezè DC, tables laid in white under mosaic lamps and a mural of the Galata Bridge
  • A long table set in black at the top of the stairs on the Mezzanine, small plants down its length
  • The Mezzanine banquette running the length of a mural of old Istanbul, mosaic lamps hanging over the tables
  • Tables in black linen under the Galata Bridge mural on the Mezzanine, a lamp lit on every table
  • A corner of the Mezzanine for two tables, prints of the Galata Tower and the old bridge on the walls
  • Long tables set with white flowers in front of the Mezè stage, under exposed beams and a brick wall
  • The Gold Room laid for a wedding dinner in white, tall candles on the tables and the big windows behind
  • Long white tables under a draped ceiling in the Gold Room, a brick wall on one side and the windows at the end
  • A birthday table along the wood slat wall of the Gold Room, white roses and clear balloons down its length

Good to know

How a private event works

No room fee
There is no room rental fee. Every private event runs on a food and beverage minimum, set for your date, your room and your guest count. If the bill lands under it, the difference is charged as a room charge.
Deposit
A deposit holds your date and is applied to your final bill. The amount follows the menu and the guest count. Your date is confirmed once the signed agreement and the deposit are both in; until then it stays pending.
Guaranteed guest count
We ask for your final guest count in writing 7 days before the event. It can go up after that, never down. If we do not hear from you, the estimate on your agreement becomes the guaranteed count.
Cancellation
The cancellation window is agreed when you sign, typically 15 days before the event. Cancel inside the agreed window and your deposit is refunded in full, within 15 days.
Decorations
You are welcome to decorate the room. Tell us what you are planning ahead of the day. Nothing may be fixed to the walls, ceilings or fixtures in a way that damages them, and confetti, glitter and open flame are not allowed.
Outside food
The food and drink come from our kitchen and bar. The one exception is a celebration cake, agreed with us in advance.
Payment
The balance is settled at the end of the event, by card, in cash, or by check made out to Meze Restaurant.

Questions

Asked most often

  • Can you open on a Monday?

Yes. Monday is our one closed day, and a buyout is the reason we open it. Ask for the date and we will tell you straight away whether it is free.

  • What does a buyout include?

The dining room, the Gold Room upstairs, the bar and our full team. For the hours you book, the restaurant is not open to anyone else.
